August 1, 2013

An FBI raid over the weekend that rescued 105 children from sex trafficking is shining new light on an at-risk group: foster kids.

People all over the country and right here in the Ozarks cringed when they heard the news-- more than 100 children in sex trafficking rescued over the weekend by federal agents. For some this was even more sickening-- 60% of sexually exploited children come right out of social services and foster homes. Foster parents all over the Ozarks are well aware this happens... and working tirelessly to make sure it doesn't happen to their kids.

Sheherazad Ja'Afari, a U.N. based press attache in New York for the Syrian mission to the UN, exposes more about the American media and its capacity to be influenced by 'liberal guilt' in one email than conservative news sites could accomplish in a year.

Last night, hackers associated with the loose collective 'Anonymous' leaked the emails from the inboxes of 78 staffers from the mail server of the Syrian Ministry of Presidential Affairs, revealing some interesting observations about the American media.

'Bait and Switch' Taxes
The American Spectator
by Thomas Sowell

Those who think President Obama's tax hikes will spare the middle class are only deluding themselves.

We have heard many times from President Barack Obama how he plans to raise taxes on "millionaires and billionaires," but not on the middle class. Apparently, if you don't happen to be a millionaire or billionaire, you don't have to worry. But the numbers say otherwise -- and say so big time. The actual tax increase plans being proposed by Obama do not start with people who have an income of a million dollars a year.

US honey bees have been dying by the tens of millions, with annual death rates of about 30 percent. With fewer bees to pollinate fruits and vegetables each year, 'beemageddon' may soon cause the collapse of the agriculture industry.

Honey bees pollinate more than 100 US crops, including apples, zucchinis, avocados and plums, that are worth more than $200 billion a year. Since 2006, about 10 million bee hives at an average value of $200 each have been lost in what scientists call the Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD), according to a new report by the US Department of Agriculture. There are currently about 2.5 million honey bee colonies in the US, which is a drastic decrease from the 6 million that existed in 1947 and the 3 million that existed in 1990. Last winter alone, the honey bee population declined by 31.1 percent, with some beekeepers reporting losses of 90 to 100 percent. In the previous two winters, beekeepers lost about 22 percent of their populations.

'Black Box' Requirement On For Sept. 1

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has rejected a one-year delay in regulations setting standards for event data recorders - the so-called "black boxes" - in U.S. vehicles.

Beginning Sept 1, all new passenger vehicles sold with the devices will have to have programming that collects data in the seconds leading up to a crash. The cost to manufacturers won't be much of an issue since 91.6 percent of new vehicles sold in the United States already have a "black box." The Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers - a trade group representing GM, Ford, Chrysler, Toyota, Volkswagen and seven other automakers - supported making the devices mandatory in 2010 but recently asked NHTSA to delay the recording requirement until next September.

Is this the tragic end of 'queen of Southern cuisine'?

How did Paula Deen, a spunky 66-year-old TV chef, go from being the much-loved "queen of Southern cuisine" to exiled pariah in just days? Deen, who campaigned for President Obama in 2008 and cooked alongside Michelle Obama on national TV, was ranked as the fourth highest-earning celebrity chef in 2012. She's now under fire for admitting in a legal deposition to use of the "N"-word many years ago.

'Boycott Best Buy' Movement Takes Off

The electronics retailer's sponsorship of a CAIR event in Minnesota has galvanized opposition.

A former Marine who served in Beirut in 1982-1983 and Iraq in 2003 looks into the camera and declares, "On behalf of myself and my family, we will no longer conduct business at Best Buy." He cuts his card in half. The Marine joined over 8,000 others who have signed a petition to boycott Best Buy over the company's financial support for the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), a group tied to the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas. The federal government designated CAIR as an "unindicted co-conspirator" in the trial of the Holy Land Foundation, a charity discovered to be a front for Hamas.

'Conservative Message Deficiency' Syndrome (CMD)

November 7, 2012

The first step in solving a problem is to first recognize that it exists.

An article in the Washington Post titled The Strategy That Paved a Winning Path provides insider information and insights that might help conservatives to address problems in the next presidential race. Mitt Romney is a good man who ran a vigorous campaign, but like Senators Bob Dole and John McCain before him, Romney seemed reluctant to express a clear conservative message, and to confront the liberal record of Barack Obama. In 2012 the campaign's "conservative message deficiency" (CMD) syndrome played out in several ways.

'Conspiracy Theorists' Are Vindicated: U.S. Senate Reports Chemtrails Are Real and Are Killing Us!

Mentioning the word 'chemtrails' on a public bus or Facebook is bound to earn you a few eye rolls from eavesdroppers and skeptical family members.

However, while skepticism - regardless of the source - isn't exactly the worst thing in the world, it appears that those who believe strongly in the idea that the U.S. government is spraying dangerous chemicals into the atmosphere may have been onto something after all.

August 3, 2012

Subsidies to businesses in the federal budget in Fiscal Year 2012 cost taxpayers almost $100 billion, according to a new report from the Cato Institute.

"That includes direct and indirect subsidies to small businesses, large corporations, and industry organizations," the libertarian think-tank said in its latest policy analysis. The subsidies are handed out from programs in many federal departments, including the departments of Agriculture, Commerce, Energy, and Housing and Urban Development, the report noted. At the same time, the federal government will run its fourth consecutive deficit in excess of $1 trillion this year.
