Today is Patch Tuesday for August, 2026.

If your Windows 10 computer can not be upgraded to Windows 11 then you should either replace your device or use the Windows 10 ESU program to get another year out of it.

Windows 11 25H2 is now available and Windows 11 23H2 and older are no longer supported. It’s safe to upgrade to Windows 11 25H2 now, but be prepared for the Start Menu to change. You will likely want to click the “View” drop-down and switch to List.

macOS 26 Tahoe is now available and macOS 13 Ventura and older are no longer supported. macOS 26 is now stable and you should upgrade to this version if your hardware supports it.

There were 1600+ major hacks, and over 1130 application updates this month. It’s a huge month, with about 7.5 GB of updates for most users.

This is the third month in a row where almost every browser in the world addressed over five hundred (500!) security vulnerabilities EACH in the last 30 days. Updates are important.

Happy Easter, Folks!

Today is Patch Tuesday for April, 2025.

It’s as safe as it’s going to be to upgrade to Windows 11 24H2 or macOS 15/Sequoia.

If your Windows 10 (or older) computer can not be upgraded to Windows 11, or if you used a registry or installation bypass to install an older version of Windows 11 on it that is no longer supported, then it’s time for you to start looking for a replacement computer. Actually, the time was 3 months ago. Pickin’s are thin right now. 🙁

There were 320+ major hacks, and over 360 application updates this month. It’s a relatively small month, with about 2.5 GB of updates for most users.

Today is Patch Tuesday for October, 2023.

This month brings a new version of macOS, version 14.0/Sonoma, an impending new Windows 11 build, and several very high profile vulnerabilities in shared code that affect thousands of applications. Vendors for some will not even discover that they’re vulnerable until their applications are used in mass hacks. The next few months are going to be ugly as this plays out.

There were 153 major hacks, and over 200 application updates this month. It’s an insane month, with about 6 GB of updates for most users.
